Structure and Function of Crane Slewing Bearings
A slewing bearing consists of an inner ring, an outer ring, rolling elements (usually rollers or steel balls), and a cage. Some designs also feature gears (internal or external) that engage with the drive mechanism to enable rotation. The rolling elements between the inner and outer rings ensure that the upper part of the crane can rotate smoothly relative to the chassis.
